during the past 6 years, a taskforce within ETRTO** defined the outlines of tyre data standards and a global technical solution for retrieving data from participating companies, based on a unique item identifier (UII), that shall open the door for various stakeholders to new connected services.
Therefore GDSO can already benefit of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), offering the flavour of the innovative service value proposition: tasks solved more easily along the tyre value chain, thanks to the tyre electronic identification and API aimed at retrieving standardized data through remote execution.
 
GDSO is getting organized to allow its members to be vocal and reporting stakeholders needs, thus allowing a continuous innovation process, based on a standardized secure platform enabling components services and solutions, as simple as possible.

Where:

1. a Stakeholder (data consumer) interrogates the tyre's UII and sends it to their user interface
2. the User Application connects to GDSO information service
3. the Resolver from GDSO information service provides the Tyre Company web-service address
4. In parallel the Authentication Service provides a token to the User Application based on their user profile
5. The User Application is redirected to the proper Tyre Company web-service, where they provide their user rights and the token to the proper authorization service implemented by each Tyre Company to secure data access
6. The  database from the Tyre Company delivers then the requested data back to the user

At this stage, GDSO needs to generate a critical mass within Tyre Industry to allow the Tyre Information Service scale-up and evolution. Therefore priority is given to the Tyre Industry.

GDSO scope is to set standards while supporting market simplification. Patents are out of scope.
 

The service was developed with an it provider with a global footprint and the issue can be managed if required; the scale up will allow to bullet proof the system.
 

Different use cases were considered and indeed the internet connection is required just once, then local information can be used.
 

Tyre industry is aware of the task and GDSO would be keen to host a table with the involved stakeholders to find out a simple solution.
 

We are already in contact with some associations, further exchanges are required.
